In an independent, peer-reviewed study published in 2002, three prominent plastic surgeons who treated 77 patients with the VASER® System reported low to minimal post-operative pain, bruising and swelling. In addition, they reported no complications or required re-treatments, and high patient and surgeon satisfaction.
The creators of the VASER® technology, Sound Surgical Technologies, tailored the system to meet the needs of plastic surgeons that were presented during focus groups beginning in the late 1990s. According to the surgeons, emerging procedures should be easier to use, safer, and have more selective abilities than older ultrasonic systems. That critical input let to the creation of the VASER® system, which is on its way to becoming the industry standard for lipoplasty procedures, medical experts say.
“We’re thrilled to offer the VASER® system and LipoSelection to our patients,” says MIAMI Institute cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Leonard Tachmes, M.D. “The technology represents the future of cosmetic procedures. Both for the surgeon and the patient, the benefits are tremendous.”
The newly implemented LipoSelection procedure also reflects the underlying mission of The MIAMI Institute: to offer patients the utmost in convenience, comfort, and quality, both in the services they choose and the care they receive afterward. LipoSelection reduces recovery time and post-operative pain and discomfort, while the Institute’s luxurious accommodations and post-operative nursing care provides patients the option of recovering in a private, comfortable environment.
In keeping with The MIAMI Institute’s philosophy of treating the patient as a whole by providing comprehensive care, LipoSelection patients are given a "total" care and healing package, which includes nutrition counseling, post-surgery lymphatic drainage by an Occupational Therapist and post-surgery ultrasound treatments to promote faster healing and smoother results.
