MIAMI Institute
Launches Groundbreaking Weight Management
Program
New Science, Quick Results
According to a recent study published in
Men's Fitness, Miami weighs in as America's
third fattest city. With this in mind, the
professionals at the MIAMI Institute for
Age Management and Intervention (MIAMI)
have developed a new, groundbreaking weight
management program. It's an intensive scientific
approach that tops everything you already
know about weight loss. In other words,
healthy weight control is not just about
"calories in vs. calories out".
What makes this different from any other
weight loss program is three new, innovative
assessment tools that analyze food intolerance,
neurotransmitters and metabolism. The MIAMI
Institute examines "food intolerance,"
the phenomenon where our bodies naturally
develop antibodies to the foods we routinely
eat, resulting in inflammation of the intestines,
which prevents us from absorbing the nutrients
needed for healthy digestion. The MIAMI
Institute administers an Alcat test - a
blood test where white cells are exposed
to various foods to reveal how patients
react to certain nutrients. By identifying
the food intolerance on an extremely customized
level, the MIAMI Institute can literally
tell people which foods to avoid. You might
not even know, for example, that your body
cannot digest broccoli properly and is inadvertently
making you fat! "It's just about how
our bodies work," states MIAMI Institute
internist, Dr. Juan Remos. "For instance,
if you take the same antibiotic too often
your body builds up a resistance, rendering
it ineffective."
Another original tool involves measuring
the neurotransmitter levels in the urine,
thus determining whether brain chemicals
such as cortisol and adrenaline are in balance.
An obvious indicator of an imbalance would
be decreased Serotonin, which can lead to
depression and mood swings, which often
results in overeating. Once these imbalances
are identified, MIAMI Institute prescribes
natural remedies to put you back on track
again, effortlessly helping to control weight.
The MIAMI Institute examines hormone levels
when tailoring a program; by measuring the
levels of estrogen against the levels of
progesterone, it can determine what needs
to be adjusted to bolster weight loss as
well as libido
Finally, they look at metabolism rates
at a cellular level with a sophisticated
nutritional analysis, which sifts through
the by-products of metabolism to examine
how your body detoxifies (e.g., how the
cells are utilizing what we eat, in order
to maximize energy; how the intestinal flora
is working, how effectively the liver is
detoxifying foreign substances, how we are
processing neurotransmitters and lastly
it looks at the levels of omega-3 and omega-6
we have in our system).
Of course, in addition to its smart and
scientific analyses, the MIAMI Institute
also looks at the usual suspects behind
weight gain and employs the basic weight
management assessment tools. For example,
it calculates body mass index, evaluates
for resting metabolic rate, and provides
nutritional assessment and dietary recommendations
not
to mention a personal fitness program, to
boot.
The average weight loss at the MIAMI Institute
is three pounds per week, totaling an average
twelve pounds per month. Patients return
from this ultimate holistic approach to
weight management wiser about their bodies
and its chemical reactions and fully rejuvenated.
The program has even been known to awaken
aspects of the body that are beginning to
slumber.
