BREAST RECONSTRUCTION
Balance. Well-Being.

Breast Reconstruction surgery restores breast appearance for women who have had their breast(s) removed to treat breast cancer. This surgery rebuilds the breast so it is about the same size and shape as it was before the mastectomy. The nipple and the darker area surrounding the nipple (the areola) can also be surgically reconstructed. Dr. Miller was privileged to train with numerous international experts in the fields of cosmetic surgery for patients requiring reconstruction after cancer.

Breast reconstruction after cancer surgery can have lasting benefits to a woman's emotional well-being and body image. In order to produce a symmetrical appearance, the reconstruction of one or both breasts will help to bring a balance to the body. A misconception of this procedure is that it will make your breast look normal while nude. In some instances, this is possible if your reconstruction is completed at the same time as your mastectomy. In most all circumstances this procedure will make your breast look normal while wearing a bra. No matter which type of reconstruction is best for you, your affected breast will differ from your unaffected breast. Most women are satisfied with their breast reconstruction, finding that it helps restore their confidence and femininity, making life easier.
