PIP Implant Exchange/Removal
SAFE. MEDICINE.

It was recently revealed that PIP (Poly Implant Prothese) breast implants from France, were made with industrial grade silicone, which is an inferior grade silicone that could rupture, ooze and/or leak exposing patients to impurities and toxins, causing medical issues. The PIP implants, were manufactured in France, but not only used in France. They were also exported over 60 countries including South America (in particular Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia and Chile), Spain and the United Kingdom. The FDA warned against the use of these implants based on its observations upon inspection of the PIP plant in south-east France. PIP closed in 2010.

Dr Craft on CBS 4 Safety Alert regarding PIP Implants

Dr Phillip Craft is a board certified plastic surgeon, specializing in cosmetic surgery of the breast and body, and frequently performs implant removal and exchange. At The MIAMI Institute, we strongly recommend that our patients become informed about all their health needs and suggest that if you think you might have been the recipient of a PIP breast implant and have any questions about your implants, please gather all pertinent information about your surgery (your implant ID card, provided to you by your surgeon after your date of surgery) or call your original cosmetic surgeon for this information.

Research has shown that severe health risks could develop if no action is taken to prevent further rupturing, in turn causing pain, inflammation and costly corrective surgeries in the future.

The MIAMI Institute uses FDA approved saline and silicone implants from Allergan, including the very popular NATRELLE Implant Collection, offering more Styles and Sizes than any manufacturer on the market today.

We held informational seminars on Jan 25, Feb 1st and Feb 8th from 6:30-7:30 on the risks associated with the implants. Please call us, at 305-624-0009, if you have any questions about your implants and are seeking information on removal and implant exchange, and would like to schedule a complimentary consultation with Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Phillip R. Craft, MD.

Please come back to this page as we will be constantly providing up to date information for our patients.
